Steve Mar recently retired from a long career in auditing technology (IT Audit) and Information Security. He specialized in assessing information security, new systems development, and technology infrastructure risks and controls. He led and developed IT Audit Teams for Nordstrom, Resources Global, Microsoft, Deloitte, KPMG, and Bank of America. He wrote and edited technical guidance for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Global Technology Audit Guide (GTAG). He has written books and given presentations on technical auditing.

He continues to serve on the IIA Committee on Research and ISACA Puget Sound Chapter Board as Research Director. He edits the “ITAudit” Column for Internal Auditor Magazine. He holds a CISA and CFSA.
