Biography

Sonora Jha, PhD, is a Professor in the Communication Department at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ. She was formerly a journalist in India and Singapore and among her appointments were that of Chief of Bureau and Special Correspondent for The Times of India, the subcontinent's largest English-language daily. She has a PhD in Political Communication and her academic research on the press, politics and the Internet has been published in leading academic journals such as Journalism & Mass Communication Quarterly, Journalism: Theory, Practice & Criticism and the Electronic Journal of Communication, among others. Professor Jha teaches courses in journalism and mass communication at Ï㽶ÊÓƵ, advises the campus newspaper, The Spectator, and directs a study abroad, leading students to study journalism and mass media in India.
